Cedar Fair Entertainment Company is one of the largest, regional amusement park operators in the United States and Canada. Cedar Fair was StarRez’s first non-higher education customer, utilizing the StarRez platform to innovate their staff housing across 7 of their parks. They initially went live with their flagship park, Cedar Point, which houses 3,200 residents during their summer season operations and whilst they continue to implement StarRez across their remaining sites which off housing.

Cedar Fair collectively hires 40,000+ associates across all of their parks each summer. Being the second largest J-1 international student host in the US, bringing around 2,500 students from 40 different countries to work each year, housing is a high priority for Cedar Fair and ensuring that all workers have a place to stay is essential to their operations.

Cedar Fair’s parks each have their own brand, look, and feel while still having a corporate structure. Cedar Fair wanted the StarRez multi-theme URL solution to be implemented across their 7 sites that offer housing so residents visiting their PortalX site would see and interact with the brand of the park they work and live at.

Implementation

The Multi theme URL was implemented by Cedar Fair’s super user in collaboration with their in-house marketing team to ensure that all of the correct graphics, colors schemes and logos were used. They then set up vanity/short URLs so that users could use a simple URL to be redirected to their themed site.
